### B3 (en). 2.3: names list (`experiments_en/2_3_names/`)

- Method: each transcript corrected in its own fresh call, temperature 0; one condition without a list, one with `names.md` attached (9 names with roles, plus one line of 12 common terms). Input: raw Grok ASR transcripts (`language=en`) of the 38 memos; scored over the 28 W+L memos (31 name mentions, 22 term mentions).
- Raw ASR (the opening table):

  | ASR | names right | terms right (of 22) |
  |---|---|---|
  | Grok endpoint, no vocabulary | 3/31 | 14/22 |
  | OpenAI-compatible endpoint | 6/31 | 20/22 |
  | Grok endpoint, names and terms in `terms` (module 5 aside; give no number in 2.3) | 28/31 | 22/22 |

- Typical ASR errors (Grok): Jaxon → Jackson; Kaitlynn → Caitlin, Kaitlyn; Saoirse → Sorsa, Source, Sarah's, Cyrus; Aoife → Oifi, Ify's, and in W03 gone entirely ("If you ask me today…"); Xochitl → Societal, Sochadel, "the solicitor"; Kaveh → Kevi, Kevish, Kewei; Mairead → Merritt, "marats"; Tadhg → Ted, Taj; Koyeb → Coyab; vLLM → ValM, VLM; LoRA → "Elora"; VoiceFlow → "voice flow".
- Results:

  | condition | deepseek-v4.1-flash names | gemini-3.8-flash names | deepseek terms | gemini terms |
  |---|---|---|---|---|
  | no list | 3/31 (same as raw) | 7/31 | 16/22 | 20/22 |
  | names list attached | 24/31 | 31/31 | 22/22 | 22/22 |

- deepseek with list is 24/31 by hand check; the automatic scorer says 25/31 because in W07 it left "Source says" and changed a later "her" to "Saoirse". Use 24.
- Spelling variants: without the list, neither model changed any of the 8 Jaxon/Kaitlynn mentions (they stay Jackson, Caitlin, Kaitlyn); with the list, both fixed all 8.
- gemini without the list fixed 4 mentions: "Prea" → Priya, "Oifi" → Aoife (W10, W13), "Sorsa" → Saoirse (W01). In the same run it wrote "Eva asked me today" (W03, Aoife), "Sarah says the Koyeb bill" (W07, Saoirse), "So, Sheetal sent over the new design mocks" (W05, Xochitl), "Mara's coming over" (L01, Mairead), "remind the illustrator" (W20, Xochitl). deepseek fixed no names without the list.
- Confident wrong substitution without a list (quote verbatim): deepseek-v4.1-flash, W01. ASR: "the service is sitting on Coyab right now". Output: "I mean, the service is sitting on Kubernetes right now, and she says the cold start is way too slow, so she wants to spin up a VM on our own box. I said, let's not rush it—next Wednesday we'll look at the KV cache hit rate with Prometheus first and then decide." (Koyeb → Kubernetes, vLLM → "a VM", Priya → Prometheus.) With the list, Koyeb is written correctly in both memos.
  - Also usable: gemini-3.8-flash W01 "the service is sitting on Colab right now"; deepseek W07 "The Cloud bill went up a lot this month" (ASR "Source says the Coyab bill"; speaker deleted).
- With the list, what deepseek still missed: ASR forms that are far from the name or are ordinary words or names: "If you ask me today" (W03, Aoife), "Source" (W07), "Sochadel" (W14), "Ify's" (W18), "Ted" (L02), "Merritt" (L04). And once it picked the wrong person from the list: "remind the solicitor" → "remind Saoirse" (W20; it is Xochitl). gemini with the list got all 31, including "Aoife asked me today" in W03.
- Dictation trick (hands-on): spell the letters out, e.g. "It's Saoirse, S-A-O-I-R-S-E" (outline; not measured).
